I decided to stream a horror movie on Hulu tonight. The movie opened up to a scene where a teenaged girl was sitting in the car with her boyfriend, sipping on beer while chatting and laughing. All of a sudden he locks the car doors and closes the sunroof. She looked terrified as her boyfriend says, “She’s all yours.”
“What are you doing?” she asks the man she trusts. When she finally gained a sense of her surroundings she witnessed a guy she didn’t recognize feeling up her skirt. Her boyfriend set her up to be raped.
In the next scene time lapses and the woman is much older. She is an anxious, very cautious woman carrying a journal and pen in the back seat of her cab while her driver, a man, is blissfully unaware of how uncomfortable he was making her. Because of the long drive in silence, and because he is just another entitled man, he felt the need to interrupt her writing to inquire about her personal life.
