Because the bar for men appears to be set in hell, straight women also have a tendency to blow even the most basic forms of decency from the opposite sex as something astronomical when it isn’t.
In the hit sitcom American Dad! there was a scene where Stan and his neighbor, a gay man named Greg, were talking. Greg stated, “Straight women don’t ask for much, do they?” Stan replied, “They really don’t. Just use coasters now and again and don’t whiz in the shower on her birthday.”
Even though this conversation was meant to be a hilarious joke there is some truth to it. Pretty much everyone is aware of how low and even nonexistent the standards belonging to heterosexual women are, which is why any woman who demands more than a man just showing up in her life is labeled stuck up, high maintenance, or a gold digger.

Case in point: I came across a post on Instagram that reads as follows:

Um….is it?!
