A Personal Trainer Saw Me Naked In The Women’s Locker Room. Here’s What She Said To Me

I always feel a twinge of discomfort whenever someone tells me they’re trying to do something amazing, whether that is change their diet, start a business, begin exercising regularly, reduce their alcohol consumption, travel, go back to school, or get a full night’s sleep every night.

The words we tell ourselves are very powerful, and I learned this lesson after my workout one afternoon at the gym a while ago.

There was nothing abnormal about this particular day, until I stepped out of the shower and headed for my locker to change into my work clothes.

I understand that the gym locker room is supposedly a safe space for women to be naked in peace, but I always felt ashamed of my body. I would do my best to hide my brown body underneath my tiny ass towel, and I always made sure to grab a locker and carve out my own personal space away from the groups of friends who worked out together. The less eyes on me the better.

That afternoon was pretty busy, as many ladies were trying to get a sweat session in during their lunch break like I was. While I was attempting to be as invisible as possible, I heard a woman’s voice behind me as I was putting on deodorant.
