A woman is the only one carrying a child, therefore she is the only one who gets to make the decision. Jesus has no say in the matter.

We do not defer to the opinions of hypocrite male deities that allow death from war, natural disasters, illness, old age, violence, and spiritual curses, all while claiming abortion is sin.

I used to have a friend who held very strong views on abortion. She was pro-life and of course I am pro-choice. While she had no children she possessed a “Damned if you do, damned if you don’t” type of personality when it came to the wombs belonging to other ladies.

On one hand, she looked down on the women who birthed children out of wedlock. But she also praised them for being “woman enough” to keep the child. Her irony was so strange to me, because who the hell cares? As long as I am not making the difficult decision to keep or abort a child, I always assume the woman with the fetus is making the best choice. It is not my business to have a personal claim in such a decision.

One time my friend tried to provoke me into an argument (er, conversation) with her to explain why I was pro-choice. I intentionally steered clear from her trap. People like her cannot be reasoned…
