According To Men My Value Decreases As I Get Older…But I Really Don’t Give A Fuck.

There is a reason why I implore women to love themselves deeply and to quit seeking so much validation from their gender counterpart. It’s because these guys are super confident in their status as hard-won trophies in our society and in the dating world, and so they pretty much make the rules. I really don’t have an issue with men claiming to be prizes, because women act like they are!

One of the rules in the dating scene is that a young woman must focus her efforts on snagging a man before she hits a certain age as her “value” goes downhill from there. I think the limit is 25 or 30; I can’t remember. Because these men “value” young ladies (I’m using air quotes as they don’t really value women in general) and associate beauty with youthfulness this rule is pretty much enforced and sustained everywhere. The beauty industry makes a killing by convincing us that growing older is worse than death itself, and so we must shell out thousands of dollars a year to prevent the inevitable as much as we can.

Regardless of what society screams at me I very much look forward to growing older. The snow white afro, money accumulated over decades, personal accomplishments, compounded wisdom, character development, and the satisfaction derived from intentionally choosing how I want to live my life…
