My femininity finally began to expand beyond this surface-level womanhood that was sold to me since girlhood when I decided to think in ways that challenged the surface.
While I am born female, I always felt as if I was lacking in the femininity department. I didn’t know what was authentic to me. I didn’t know what I liked, or what made me Sanni Lark. All I knew was that I must follow the norms that many ladies blindly follow, which is to worship the fashion and beauty trends of celebrities and influencers as if there isn’t much more to womanhood than clothing, makeup, boozy brunches, skin care, and keeping my body fit for the sexual pleasure and gaze of men. But I wanted more than this.

Now this isn’t to say that women do not use their brains. Of course they do!
