Actually, You Should Break Up With Them For Their Own Good!
It is very difficult for anyone to examine their behavior and course-correct when you are rewarding them for hurting you with your presence!
To kick off this weekend and the beautiful start of a new month I came across a snippet of an interview with pastor, father, and husband R.C. Blakes, Jr. who discussed the power of walking away from relationships that are not beneficial or healing to your life:
“When a woman has the power to walk away from a man that she loves but he’s not loving her back the right way, she allows the space that is necessary for her heart to heal…you then give that man the space he needs to gain clarity.
Because sometimes access breeds blindness. We’re blind to what we have access to.
I would liken it to being in New York City at the Empire State Building. If you’re right there at the front door you can’t see it. Because you have direct access. But the further away you are from it the more it comes into view.”
I agree with every single word Mr. Blakes uttered, especially on the point he made about break-ups serving as the perfect catalyst for someone you love to self-reflect and gain clarity and understanding as to why you decided to leave in the first place.
