Journal Entry #20: All Money Isn’t Good Money

I have been selling used clothes and shoes online for over a decade. And I have learned to use my intuition when it comes to the requests and intentions of clients. Some are serious buyers and others get a kick out of wasting my time.

There was one particular incident that occurred years ago, and the interaction I had with this lady served as a lesson to never allow anyone to take money out of my pocket by wasting my time for free.

She asked me to lower the price on a designer bag I had in stock, claiming that another shop owner on the app I used had the same bag but for a lower price. And she wanted to purchase from me. The woman sent me the link to the item as proof and she requested that I match the price.

Even though our conversation was virtual I am well-versed in the energy behind people’s words. She came off as very demanding and entitled, which bothered me of course. But at the time I really wanted the sale, so I agreed to match the price. I should have told her to purchase the same bag from the other shop and leave me the fuck alone.

Although I accommodated her request based on the promise that she would immediately purchase the bag she gave some excuse about how she couldn’t buy it from…
