Analyzing The Angry Black Woman Stereotype, By A Former Angry Black Woman
I am not the only black woman who is sick and tired of being expected to pick up the slack, scraps, garbage, and bullshit of the world and turn it into “black girl magick.”
I am not the only black woman who is sick and tired of being expected to pick up the slack, scraps, garbage, and bullshit of the world and turn it into “black girl magick” while other races of women, and people in general, get to enjoy and benefit from our hard work without so much as an acknowledgement or a thank you…or even a listening ear as to how they can support us in return.
One of the primary reasons why black women are so damn angry is because anger is the only emotion we are encouraged to express, even though we simultaneously receive a lot of backlash and judgment for leading with this emotion after the whole goddamn planet uses our anger to push, grow, and promote all sorts of initiatives that do not benefit black women in the slightest. Once they are done using us up by vamping our real pain for their goals they join in with the others with their angry black women taunts.
I mean, wouldn’t you be pissed all the way off if the only reason people are even listening to you is to derive ideas to use your pain for their gain?!
