“As a black woman I am always supposed to have my bull horn ready whenever a white woman decides to rock some goddamn braids, but when the same thing is done to us by us I am not supposed to feel a type of way?”

Ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived at another chapter in the series called Black People Being Highly Ironic as Fuck!

In this chapter we will discuss the faux rage black folks possess towards nonblack people when it comes to stealing and cultural appropriation, all while they nonchalantly tell black creators to “Get over it” when our work is stolen from the very people who look like us; the same people who apparently are victimized by the world and just need a break.

Interestingly, that “break” conveniently comes from black producers who work tirelessly to earn a living. We are allowed to be robbed in broad daylight in these social media streets by our “brothers” and “sisters,” and instead of us policing each other and possessing a basic level of respect and decorum towards the movers and shakers in our community, black creators are told to get over it because imitation is the highest form of flattery.

Basically, money is being taken out of our pockets and that is supposed to be a damn compliment?
