Black women are obsessed with creating loving families because they don’t have them.

This nonsensical cultural norm of everyone encouraging young black ladies to pop out a bunch of babies as the only way to find fulfillment, healing, and love is something I will speak out against until the day I die!

In the black community it seems as if nobody wants to point black women towards resources that will actually help them and enhance the quality of their lives. Nobody wants to sit down and open up their hearts to black women and really listen to us. Sometimes all we need is a listening ear. Those moments of compassion can be enough for us to reflect on our lives and be inspired enough to seek help.

None of these things occur because our community wants more black babies to be born. They want yet another baby shower to attend. They want another new life to celebrate; that is until the baby grows up and nobody is interested anymore.
