Can Your Husband Be Right And Wrong At The Same Damn Time?
“I don’t believe there are many situations worse than having kids and permanently attaching yourself to a man who could care less about your feelings.”
In today’s news of Women Placing Their Health, Emotions, and Bodies in Harm’s Way Just to Keep a Man Because They Hate Being Alone, a mother and wife admitted that she held a grudge against her husband for damn near half a century because of what he said to her during childbirth.
While she was in labor she told her husband that it hurts. Her husband responded with some nonchalant words that she was not planning to hear. He told her, “Well you knew it would!” This wife and mother told her Facebook audience that even after 45 years, to this very day she hasn’t forgotten what he said. I am also betting that since she is looking for comfort and compassion on social media she hasn’t expressed how she felt to her husband after so much time has passed either!
While I am staunchly childfree, I cannot say that I blame her for feeling hurt because her husband’s words were uncalled for. But at the same time were they correct? Can someone say something truthful but still be in the wrong at the same damn time?
My answer is yes. What say you?
