Childfree Chronicles: When Living With Regret Isn’t Such A Bad Thing
Why do parents act like regret is the absolute worst thing to occur to those who decide not to procreate?
There is a general consensus amongst society that people who make an intentional decision not to be parents in this lifetime will eventually live to regret their decision. I find this conclusion very interesting, considering that nobody who is truly childfree has ever opened their mouth to admit that they made the wrong decision and if they could go back in time they would get raw dogged and have as many babies as God would allow them to.
So who exactly is providing this information? Or is this make-believe regret that is supposed to affect a small community of people who are not interested in starting families just another lie we have claimed as the truth with nobody around to back it up?
Furthermore, anyone who can see that far into my future to declare that I will live to regret not making the same decisions they did should be able to predict that being a parent is not as easy or great as they thought! “But nobody told me it would be so hard!” these parent psychics whine to anyone within earshot.
So let me get this straight: you can see my future decades from now where I am a tiny old lady who regrets not having children, but you cannot see down…
