Childfree Women Do Not Want To Mother Drunk Friends Either!
“Friendships have served as perfectly acceptable disguises to get me to mother grown adults.”
“Manage your life better.”
“Handle your business.”
These are two quotes that I use whenever I encounter the needy adult who wants to utilize my womanhood to get me to take care of them. However, I do not own one nurturing bone in my body. I am not equipped to mother grown adults, and I also don’t want to.
For the past week I found myself reflecting on my terrible traumatic friendships in the past, and how I was usually the more responsible, mature friend many people leaned on. I have concluded that friendships are a complete waste of time for me, because most adults are too damn needy and clingy for my taste.
There is a certain level of vulnerability that people feel comfortable exposing only to single, childfree women; a neediness that is not apparent with their friends who can excuse themselves out of this experience due to having obligations deemed more important than the ones belonging to women who choose not to give birth or be partnered.
