Comparing My Past & Current Lifestyle Habits: From Being Overweight To Where I Am Now

Lately I’ve been thinking about how my lifestyle has changed dramatically over the past year. I’ve been taking baby steps towards my goals and I am still not where I want to be yet! However, I have made significant progress towards being healthy and I am proud of myself.

There are major differences between who I was before and who I am now, which I will list below.

Past: Binge eating

Current: Eating when I am hungry and stopping when I am full

In the past I had major FOMO when it came to food. I felt like I had to eat as much as I could in one setting because that particular food item wouldn’t be there anymore. One time at work I ate five large slices of NY pizza, even though I was painfully full. I ate and ate because I enjoyed the experience of eating that pizza and I didn’t want it to end. I’ve also did my best to make room for the surprise treats and desserts at work even though I just ate a heavy lunch.

My binge eating didn’t stop at work either. At home I had to eat as much as I could in one sitting. I would occasionally rush back to my apartment to scarf down a large Domino’s pizza or any meal that could easily accommodate a few people. I didn’t like the way leftovers tasted so I always felt the need to clean my plate.
