Confession: I Wish I Was A White Woman Whenever Black Men Harass Me

“Yo, I’m trying to fuck! I’m horny!”

“I’m just trying to get some head.”

“How am I supposed to have a good night when you look like that?!”

“Look at her ass.”

“You have some nice lips.”

“Can I get to know you?”

“You don’t like the way I’m treating you? What are you going to do about it?”

All of these statements have been made by complete strangers who look like me on separate occasions. Some of these encounters have ended with me calling the police, as these men resorted to following me. There was even a time when a handicapped man in a wheelchair blocked me off from escaping him while I was sitting on the train.

Needless to say, I am scared of black men and I hate being around them. My breath quickens, my heart beats faster, and my body is prepared to run whenever I am forced to be around them. One of the best things I’ve ever done was move to a predominantly white area, where I do not have to be in contact with many black men. And the very few of them that I do see are too busy enjoying their white partners to pay attention to me.

Bliss.
