“According to the romantic obsessives, someone must be feeding off of our creative energy in the same ways everyone feeds off of them under the guise of true love.”

Over the weekend I watched a reel where a popular skater was dancing on wheels with a young lady. While they looked very good together the skater didn’t claim her as his girlfriend or wife. Since he is an instructor, his caption suggested that the reel was a short snippet taken from a skating lesson.

Now of course the annoying hopeless romantics who cannot stand to see anyone alone, let alone believe that this handsome man can actually maintain a professional relationship with his female student, didn’t buy his words. Because they hate being alone, apparently any man or woman who is seen with their gender opposite is covering up the fact that they are dating or fucking this person. In their ridiculous, rose-colored Disney world of make-believe, there is no such thing as friends, family members, coworkers, or clients; only fuck buddies, spouses, and partners.

I read a slew of comments with both lonely men and women assuming that the mystery woman in the reel was the instructor’s girlfriend or wife, even after he stated that she was a friend and client of his. Some even seemed concerned and said they’ve never seen him skate with a woman…
