Dear Americans, You Are Not Oppressed!

This “I am oppressed!” slogan that has been making its rounds in this country has been worn the fuck down and used the hell up. Everyone is rushing to social media make it known that they are oppressed and that it’s unfair that they feel oppressed.

In my opinion, many of these people are not oppressed by any means. They simply cannot afford the things they want. And I understand that being in this predicament is frustrating. I get that feeling stuck in life sucks. But that, my friends, is not the meaning of oppression. Actually, those who can possibly qualify as oppressed do not have smartphones with $100 monthly payments and $2300 MacBooks to create reels and write articles demanding justice in the form of money to live the lifestyles they believe they are owed.

I mean, are you really owed financial reparations because you would rather stay home with your kids than go to work? Is this where we are as a society?

Many of these screeching individuals are doing just fine. They may not be where they want to be in life, but how many of us are? They can afford a clean, comfortable apartment or house. They go to jobs located in air-conditioned offices. They have a car that runs. They go out to eat…
