Dear Men, Quit Misgendering Black Women Under The Guise Of Trans Solidarity!
“Men will automatically assume you are one of them because many black women do not fit the societal mold of what is feminine, which is hopelessly white-washed and accommodates a small percentage of women in this world.”
A female comedian took to Instagram to share an incident between herself and a random man that could have been completely avoided had he used a little bit of common sense and human decency.
He approached her and goes, “I just want to let you know that I fully support trans rights.”
“What?” the confused young lady asks.
“Aren’t you?” he responds, passive-aggressively asking if she is a trans woman.
“Aren’t I what?” she asks again for clarification.
Embarrassed, the man mumbles a sorry under his breath.
I don’t know what it is about the men-folk always saying the most unnecessary shit and having the audacity to believe they are righteous for speaking out of turn! Who told this young man that it is permissible to walk up to a stranger and assume she is trans, simply because she does not appear as feminine as he believes cis-women are? That entire interaction based on egotistical gratification was completely uncalled for! As if anyone, trans or not…
