“I created great, lasting memories with these people I called my loved ones, and I wish them all the best. But my garden, or my personal life, does not need any more weeds who are just hanging around and taking up space.”

I have an announcement to make:

As of today, I only have nine phone numbers saved in my phone.

There is something very special about the number nine as it relates to spirituality. For those that do not know, nine is one of my favorite numbers, as well as the number six. But nine is the number that is associated with death. And that number is very fitting for the lighthearted feeling of relief that came over me as I buried the dead relationships in my life by deleting the phone numbers of “loved ones” who do not reach out to me, especially because I stopped contacting them as a means to keep a nonworking, non-reciprocal relationship on life support.

Here’s a self-care tip that pretty much anyone can implement: take those dead relationships off life support! I finally pulled the plug, and I never felt better.

It was 4:30 AM when a random feeling of urgency came over me. I immediately grabbed by phone and went through my contacts list and started erasing numbers one by one.
