Story Time: Did He Try To Kidnap Me In Front Of My Boyfriend’s House?

The night was setting in the Brooklyn sky. I hopped off the train, walked up the sidewalk, and stepped into the beautiful residential neighborhood lined with brownstone buildings. As I strolled and admired my serene surroundings I whipped my phone out of my work bag to call my boyfriend.

“Hey. I’m almost there,” I told him as I passed several people. From the tiredness in their faces they were heading home from work to relax like I was.

“Okay. What do you want for dinner?” he asked.

“Um, I’m not sure. Maybe we can order in?”

“Alright. It’s up to you.”

“See you soon,” I said as I hung up.

I looked up to witness a few stars sprinkled above my head. It was finally nighttime. I passed the small corner store across from my boyfriend’s apartment building. A few cars drove past as I waited until I was in the clear to cross the street.

Right outside the building I became suspicious of a car parked in front of the concrete steps leading to the glass door entrance. A white man with a peculiar-looking haircut was sitting in the driver’s seat. I knew he didn’t live in Tyler’s building. I never saw him or his car before in my life. Our eyes locked.
