From Bearing It All To Baring It All: Why Women Want To Be Naked On Social Media
Instead of bearing it all to keep a man women began to bare it all, physically and emotionally. Women are now creating the space to be as vulnerable as they please.
Why are we so damn comfortable being naked all of a sudden?
My mind came up with many answers wrapped into one. First and foremost, I believe women are intentionally exposing themselves as a declaration that their bodies belong to them first. Back in the day men who wanted to blackmail women for whatever reason betrayed their trust by posting risque photos and videos of these ladies that were either sent to them or were secretly created without the woman’s permission. Now, women are beating men to the punch: if anyone is going to expose the bodies of women it will be the women themselves!
Not only that, but I noticed a lot of backlash from men and their chronically single and love-starved handmaidens when the rise of feminine nakedness began to gain traction. Many men who were still under the impression that we wanted to do anything to earn the chance of being wives were upset that women were not waiting for men to use their bodies against them. They were pissed off that they could no longer control the bodies of women for their benefit just to hand us the crumb of a wedding ring and a wife…
