Do your best to make more investments, or sacrifices, that will pay you for decades and minimize the excuses.

Besides being mentally stronger from pushing through such a tough week, one of the primary reasons why I chose to exercise anyway was due to a saying I saw online: “Hard workouts, easy life.” I must say that while working out flat out sucks most of the time, regular movement has made my life 1000 times easier, especially since I have anemia, a condition which oftentimes zaps the life out of my body and makes me much weaker and more tired. Exercising has made me stronger and given me much more energy so far, which has made my everyday life much more enjoyable. And normal.

While so many ladies are debating whether or not they should begin exercising to build a dump truck for a behind, I am choosing to exercise even when I don’t feel like it because I know what it’s like to barely have enough energy to walk to the goddamn bathroom or stand over the stove to cook a meal.

Now, I am pulling out the chair to sit and catch my breath while I cook less often. In fact, I prepared dinner tonight and I didn’t even use my trusted chair! These little wins that have nothing to do with vanity is why I am making a promise to myself to not only stick to my planned workouts, but to be more active in general. After all, hard workouts equals an easier life, right?
