When I first came across the term anti-blackness, I couldn’t help but smirk while simultaneously roll my eyes at yet another silly, nonsensical, overly-liberal word that makes absolutely no sense. I cannot wait to see the day when black people are not brainwashed to believe that every single experience or conflict they live through has to do with the color of their skin, if I’ll ever see that day at all.

I actually dismissed the term at first, because I had no idea what it meant and I didn’t care to lose any brain cells to figure it out. Plus our society comes out with a new label every single goddamn day, all in the name of inclusivity. But once I heard some black content creators throwing the anti-blackness word out left and right to refer to some black folks I finally caught on to its meaning. Hell, even I’ve been called anti-black.

Now I may not be entirely accurate on my interpretation, but in my eyes being anti-black is just another word to describe someone who wants nothing to do with black people. If you are black, being called a sellout or an Uncle Tom will give you a pretty good idea of what being labeled…
