How I Keep My Acne-Prone Skin Under Control

While I’ve always had flawless cocoa body skin, my face is the complete opposite. I’ve had pretty bad acne since I was a teenager, and through many facials, laser treatments, diet changes, lifestyle transitions, and product hauls I can confidently say that my acne is under control.

Take a look at what I do to achieve my best skin yet:

1. Invest in quality skincare products.

Besides lipstick, I don’t wear a stitch of makeup, particularly because foundation makes me break out and eye makeup can irritate my already sensitive eyes. I am prone to styes and chalazia, two painful conditions that result from blocked oil glands in the eyelids, so I have to be super cognizant of keeping my eye area as clean as possible. It is easier for me to just go without makeup and reduce my chances of inflammation.

This is why I spare no expense when it comes to quality skincare. I do my best to invest in clean beauty products from Sephora. My favorite skincare brands are Dr. Dennis Gross, Murad, innisfree, and Herbivore Botanicals.

2. Sweat!

Working up a good sweat gives my skin a beautiful glow. When I used to live in NYC I would frequently visit the sauna before I started my work day or during my lunch break to decompress and relax. My coworkers would always…
