How Leaving Christianity The Hell Alone Empowered Me
“If I am the one working hard around the clock, failing and starting over again and again, plus investing my money and time into my future, then why on earth would I give any god, a male god at that, any credit?”
“I want to thank me for believing in me. I want to thank me for doing all this hard work. I want to thank me for having no days off. I want to thank me for never quitting.”
Snoop Dogg
One of my favorite memes of all time is a photo of rapper Boosie Badazz looking extremely confused as a nonverbal response to the infamous, “Won’t God do it!” praise that many Christians love to shout from the rooftops whenever anything positive occurs in their lives.
His disturbed facial expression is followed by the following rebuttal: “Won’t God do what?”
My sentiments exactly.
As far as I’m concerned, my life is 100% my responsibility and I treat it as such. What this means is that my life and its outcomes, good or bad, is mainly the result of my choices.
