How To Trigger Men 101: Ignore That Ass!

“Every person is not worth speaking to. Every question doesn’t have to be answered. Every conversation isn’t worth having.”

At the beginning of the pandemic I came across a blog post from a woman who is considered to be one of the pioneers of the black women’s empowerment movement. In the post she presented a wonderful opportunity for her female audience.

She challenged the ladies to not respond to any man who was not positively benefiting them in any way for an entire week. And she meant business when she said any man: brothers, fathers, cousins, friends, and strangers were all fair game. If he had a dick between his legs, speaking to that man for any reason other than engaging in healthy, mutually beneficial conversation was a no-go!

I discovered this brilliant woman long after she originally published this enlightening post, and I felt up for the challenge. I must say that I did well, with the exception of one man who completely invaded my personal space while I was standing across from him on the train. To be fair, he asked me for directions and leaned in very closely because he couldn’t hear my answer through my mask. I was very brief with him as well; a simple “I don’t know” was sufficient for him to ask someone else.
