I Don’t Give A Damn About Heaven. What Am I Getting Right Now?!

Over the past few days my mother has been sending me links to YouTube videos posted from different black female content creators. She urged me to watch them.

Yesterday afternoon I had some free time and decided to click on one. Once the young lady said her introduction it was clear that she was a Christian. I immediately furrowed my brow and pressed the small x in the corner of the video.

I messaged mum back, reminding her that I am not a Christian. Therefore, I do not want to consume any faith-based content.

If not Christianity, then what do you do? she shot back, as if I must have chosen another religion by now.

My response?

I use my brain. LOL. I work hard. I enjoy my life. I don’t need any holy book or God to tell me how to live. I don’t follow anyone or anything.
