I Failed An Instagram 30-Day Fitness Challenge & I Couldn’t Be More Proud Of Myself
A few months ago I pressed the Follow button on her profile. She was a beautiful black woman who sculpted the body of her dreams through weight lifting and diet. She made it very clear that her body was “built not bought,” indicating that she never got cosmetic surgery then passed it off as natural results she obtained through food and exercise. In the social media world this practice is very common, and so her forwardness was a breath of fresh air.
I found myself scrolling through her profile many times, looking for tips and exercises that could possibly be the key to me achieving the results I was looking for. I started on my fitness journey not too long ago and while I was enjoying my strict routine, I desperately wanted to switch it up.
One day Ali (not her real name) made a post about her 30-day fitness challenge. Apparently she held these challenges every season and she was looking for 20 ladies who wanted to see drastic results in one month. I was a bit skeptical as I am well-aware that changing one’s body takes time. But then I thought to myself, “Why not?” After all, the challenge was only $25.00 and I can pick up some exercises and recipes that I can use in the long run. So I paid my money and immediately received my welcome email.
