If You’re Not Attracted To Him, Why Do You Care About The Women He Prefers?

Rejection is a powerful thing. I notice that both men and women play this game of rejecting each other before they get a chance to be declined.

For example, one time I was at Chipotle ordering a veggie bowl on my lunch break. A group of black construction workers were sitting down and eating their food. Out of the corner of my eye I saw them staring at me and talking amongst themselves.

All of a sudden one of them yells, “Yo, chill! I do not even like her!” very loudly. It was clear that he was referring to me, the woman who was minding her business, and he definitely wanted me to hear that he wasn’t interested.

Never mind the fact that I do not date black men, let alone blue collar workers. If this makes you upset I implore you to cast your cares upon Jesus (1 Peter 5:7) as your triggers are not my problem.

(You see how I preemptively rejected your anger towards me before you even had a chance to decide if my statement pissed you off? I can admit that I play this game as well)

Never mind the fact that I was grabbing lunch. I wasn’t in Chipotle to find a damn man. I was hungry!

In this man’s mind, he wanted to reject me and let me know that I didn’t meet his standards, even though I didn’t…
