“As an older woman, you are probably going to be on your own much longer than you anticipate. That is not a great time to get seriously injured, all because you were too feminine to pick up a goddamn dumbbell or kettlebell in your younger years!”

I am so happy to see so many ladies of all ages hitting the weights. Not too long ago it appeared as though we were paying for gym memberships that gave us access to all parts of the gym, and yet we still confined ourselves to the spin classes and rows of treadmills. Now we are pumping iron, fueling our bodies properly with enough calories and nutrients, and we are finally ditching the heroine chic, whisper-thin aesthetic and getting more excited about building up our quads and hamstrings.

It’s so beautiful to witness!

But on the other side of the excitement of hitting new PRs and investing in colorful leggings that make the squat booty pop are those ladies who insist on never doing any form of resistance training, even with resistance bands and adorable pink two-pound dumbbells. So we all know that loading a barbell with heavy iron circles is out of the question!

If you listen closely you can hear them all singing the same tune with their perfectly contoured noses in the air:
