Is Eugenics Actually The Big Bad Wolf, Or…

The internet is a virtual world where we are given instant glimpses into the minds of many individuals we would never come in contact with. Through their questions, opinions, tweets, posts, and rants, we receive permission to gauge an individual’s intelligence and status in our society on many levels, as well as determine the general consensus and direction of this society as a whole.
Last weekend I was forced to confront and revisit the topic of eugenics, the controversial theory of “race improvement,” through this same gift and curse called the internet, and reflect on why a little restriction when it pertains to procreation may not be the big bad wolf everyone claims it to be.
Basically a man who was new to a small group I belong to sent me a message asking me to remove a photo that he claimed would trigger new members. What he really meant to say that he was the only one who was triggered, and because he was too embarrassed to admit this (he should have been embarrassed, because what the fuck?) he worded his request in a way that would sound more appealing to me and the betterment of our small community.
