Journal Entry #1: Money Blocks, Being Liked, And Spiritual Alignment

“Some people will gravitate towards me and some won’t. This is out of my control.”

There is a particular money block that I am tackling one day at a time. It is the notion that you must be a likable person in order to be successful. I always believed that success is found in many numbers, meaning that the more people who like me and/or my work, or if a piece goes viral, then that is the meaning of success.

I have since come to the conclusion that a lot of accomplished individuals are not necessarily famous or widely recognized. There is money out there for everyone. But as it comes to popularity, what I have found is that my most viral pieces are controversial in nature. Actually, I rarely write anything that appeals to both men and women in large numbers. I don’t think I have it in me to do otherwise. While I do have the best of intentions every time I hit Publish, my words are raw and they aren’t easily consumable. My thoughts are bittersweet in that they can help people but they just don’t resonate with everyone.

And that’s okay.

Some of my friends wonder with disgust why I admire public figures such as Donald Trump and Kanye West. It’s because I know how to separate the tone from the message, so to speak. I admire their abilities to influence…
