Kids Are Not Bargaining Chips To Negotiate A Better Relationship With Your Parents

“It is painful to constantly be coerced by your loved ones to risk your life, your health, your money, and give up your lifestyle just because they feel entitled to grandkids.

It’s absolutely disgusting to me. There is nothing loving about this.”

I have a question:

How many childless and childfree people have been hounded by their parents to give them grandkids, as if you owe them anything? The pressure is on, am I right?

Before you decide that you have been worn thin enough and you might as well have kids to appease your parents, ask yourself if you really want to start a family? I mean, would you have wanted children if you were not intentionally being pressured by mom and dad, or anyone for that matter?

This is your life. Forget everyone else. What do you want?

As a little girl I knew I didn’t want kids. But at my young age I remembered thinking that my parents, more specifically my mother, didn’t deserve to be grandparents anyway. I knew that any issues I had with them wouldn’t be magically resolved by giving them grandchildren.
