Ladies, Busy Work Is Not Your Life’s Purpose.
Women who choose to swap out their divine purpose to scrub toilets and clean smeared spaghetti sauce off of the walls will go through life feeling the daily satisfaction of a job well done, but the emptiness in their souls for a purpose never actualized.
I spend pretty much every holiday season with my immediate and extended family. It is fun to come together with those beautiful individuals I am related to by blood and share in the festivities of sharing meals and housing arrangements once a year. But it is also very fascinating to observe the women in my family, namely my mother and my aunts, band together to work harder than they’ve ever worked all year to make Christmas special for everyone.
For example, yesterday I took a short break from my work to go to the kitchen to grab a snack and my mouth dropped open at the display of a gorgeous Christmas tree and extravagant living room decorations that were not there just a few hours ago.
“You like it? We’re decorating outside tomorrow!” my aunt exclaimed excitedly as she turned to me.
“Sanni, come help us with this tree! We need all hands on deck!” mum stated in an equally excited tone.
At that point I gave her a confused look. This look matched the confusion I felt inside, because my mother and I truly lived in…
