Ladies, You Cannot Buy A Man’s Love!
“Be smart with your money. And most importantly, be smart with your heart!”
A few years ago my boundaries with men, and with people in general, were not as strong as they are currently. At that time I was still being the thoughtful girlfriend, daughter, sister, and close friend by gifting the ungrateful, stingy people in my life all sorts of gifts when they were not even thinking about me and how they could make me feel special.
So as I was transitioning into the current misandrist you love to hate, I came across a Facebook post written by an intelligent young lady who understood the assignment as it pertains to the opposite sex. Her words deeply resonated with me to the point where I made a concrete decision that I stuck to for all these years.
She wrote, “The only reason you should be giving any man money is if he is the cashier.”
Mic drop.
Right then and there, I decided that I was no longer going to give men anything that took money out of my own pockets. In addition to this decision, I no longer allowed anyone to borrow cash from me. I didn’t care about their gender, how long I knew them, or how dire their situation was. I was not comfortable allowing anyone to hold on to any cash that rightfully belonged to me, so I stopped being so unnecessarily generous.
