Mass-Manufactured Femininity Deprogramming 101: Raise Hell!
Maybe none of us are actually as nonchalant or as private as we think; perhaps we have been shamed into being introverts by being ridiculed and emotionally dismissed by those we trusted?
I have witnessed countless experiences where women singlehandedly bent over backwards and sacrificed themselves for others without any reciprocation. Plus I have received backlash from friends, family, and other trusted peers for having the audacity to stand alone and strong in situations I cared about. Of course their comfort was prioritized over the love they claimed they had for me.
Apparently women are always supposed to be of service to others, even at the expense of their concerns. We aren’t supposed to speak up, follow our hearts, or fight for anything that the people we are supposed to be in service to don’t give two fucks about. Women have become so accustomed to silencing their own voices preemptively due to fears of looking or sounding crazy, which we all know is the antichrist of being ladylike and feminine; and of course coming to the realization that they show up for others in ways their friends and family would never support them in return.
