Men and women do “cave” after a while. In other words, they almost always settle if they’re not happy being single (which doesn’t necessarily mean isolated).
Romance is a small aspect of this human experience and it can be optional for the right person. It is everything for some and not that serious for others, like me for instance.
Some people do need romance to compensate for other aspects of love that aren’t as fulfilling in their lives (friendships, family, etc.).
