Men, Save Your Think Pieces. You Don’t Really Care About The Safety & Autonomy Of Women

“Men as a collective don’t hate rapists. If they did, rape would pretty much be nonexistent.”

I came across a Reddit thread where a woman admitted that she was afraid of men and needed help. Her father struck the fear of his gender in her heart from a young age by telling her that men are pigs. That she should stay away from them because they are terrible beings. Men think with their dicks. And if a man is being nice to her he just wants one thing.

Like myself, this young lady was not raised by a hopeless romantic. I’ve heard similar lectures growing up, but just not as drastic. Her dad’s words still ring in her head, and they have prevented her from trusting any man outside of her father and other male family members.

A man wrote a lengthy response to her inquiry. I will admit that his words “appeared” so sincere and sweet, plus I am sure many women were so moved by his bullshit. It’s a good thing I am not glamoured by anything my gender counterpart says though! Below is a paragraph that caused me to raise my eyebrows:
