Men Use Location To Determine How Creepy They Are Allowed To Be
Whenever I politely asked these men to leave me alone or to quit touching me their default response was, “But we are at a club!” Which is quite fascinating because the place where I am forced to exercise my boundaries really doesn’t matter.
As soon as I woke up I viewed an Instagram story where a woman was in a crowded party dancing the night away with her girlfriend. Suddenly a man marched up to the ladies and stood there, ogling the pair. Then he purposely blocked one of the women from accessing her friend, expecting to be welcomed and danced on.
The clip ended with such a disgusting display of narcissism and entitlement, so I didn’t get to see how the incident played out. But I can imagine this man would’ve thrown a fit if the women showed any signs they were upset at his blatant interruption of their fun for his selfish pleasure.
I spent the first few minutes of my day completely repulsed, as the short clip instantly transported me back to the years when I would party and drink my weekends away. I am all too familiar with the unwanted grubby hands of random men grabbing my waist and automatically expecting me to cooperate.
Of course there were a few select men who were respectful enough to ask me to dance or didn’t dare touch me until I took my time to feel…
