Oh goodness; I hate that this happened to you. That’s terrible!
I’m not saying that being a white woman will completely shield me from these terrible encounters with black men, and I did state in my article. But I’m glad you brought up location. In the large cities and metro areas I’ve been in (DC and NYC) black men do use skin color to determine who they should harass (for the most part). By and large black women are their targets for the reasons I mentioned in my article. It goes much deeper than wanting a laugh with their friends or trying to scare us. The issues black women and black men have with each other is inter-generational and disturbing at best.
