We are supposed to dress in ways that appeal to men…and also in ways that protect us from them as well.

The harsh truth is this: there is no such thing as self-respect, especially within the context of women using the manmade concept as their armor to prevent men from stalking them, harassing them, and assaulting them. Because the armor men have on their side, which consists of brute strength, a sense of entitlement that the justice system supports by way of lax consequences for crimes against women, and a desire to overpower the same beings they were created to protect, will always conquer the women who believe that long fabrics, kindness, smiles, and forced displays of manufactured graceful femininity is appropriate and effective battle equipment to protect them while they fight for their lives every time they leave the house.

If self-respect really was the ultimate gatekeeper to a reality where women feel safe rape wouldn’t exist in cultures where women dress modestly, nor would it have existed before the late 1900s when it was the norm for women to be more covered. So no, there is no such thing as something as simple as clothing choices preventing women from experiencing danger initiated by the opposite sex.

The men lied to you. Again.
