“Only The Best Wives Get Promoted To Mommy” Um, What?!
“It’s so sad to witness how women are so happy to run themselves into the ground to receive rewards that require them to work even harder, all in the name of love.”
I recently encountered the most atrocious of mugs in all of existence. It’s not that the design was hideous, but the words on the mug were so ridiculous that they compelled me to scratch my eyes out.
The mug read, “Only the best wives get promoted to mommy.” And women are happily drinking their coffee or tea from this ceramic vessel of feminine torture! Is it just me, or can you see how women are being conditioned to perform for men to receive the reward of motherhood, the only goal we are supposed to aspire to?
I just want to know who created this design? A man, or a mammy?
Per the mug, what exactly makes a wife the “best wife?” I can imagine that this title entails a woman’s wifely duties to be constantly evaluated by her boss, or her husband, so that she can earn the promotion of mother through her labor. But only after he deems her to be the best wife!
If this isn’t the most degrading shit ever! Imagine being a wife to a man who uses motherhood as a contest to benefit his needs! But all the wives are sitting pretty and acknowledging this rhetoric as worthwhile through every purchase…
