Quit Treating Grown Men Like Children: Exploring How Women Infantilize Their Partners & The Male Collective

I have both witnessed and experienced how women all around me, from all walks of life, nurture and coddle grown men to the point of exhaustion. All priorities are put to the side as they put on their cape to rescue the men in their lives and shelter them from the perils of adulthood. But it doesn’t stop there. This savior complex affects their interpersonal relationships as well.

Unfortunately, a lot of female relationships involve putting their girlfriends, daughters, and family members to work in order to compensate for the spoiled men in their lives. This definitely causes a rift; many connections between women are actually trauma bonds centered around the masculine.

This is my attempt to analyze the seemingly-innocent catchphrases and behaviors that infantilize the male collective through my childhood and adult experiences.

“The devil made him do it!”

I usually hear religious women scream this statement from the rooftops in regards to their partners cheating on them. I distinctly remember the spouses of Pastor John Gray and public figure Derrick Jaxn blame the devil for why their husbands stepped out of their marriages.

Allow me to let out a huge sigh before I continue. Because this message is to all the women who find themselves believing that their men cannot possibly make any decisions to violate their commitments without any outside influences.

The devil did not place a gun to your boyfriend/husband’s head and force him to have sex with that woman. He made the decision to do it on his own. The devil did not stick his red roofed leg out to trip your husband so he could land in some woman’s wet pussy.

Honestly, blaming a creature for your man’s infidelity will not lessen the emotional blow and damage. It’s best to face the facts head-on and heal from there.

He cheated because he could. And because he wanted to. Cheating is a choice freely available to everyone.

I also find it interesting how some women blame this devil and everyone else for the hurtful actions of their partners, but their men are also 100% responsible and worthy of…
