If you are anything like me, certainty shows up in your life by rewatching the same shows and movies over and over again or being reluctant to try new foods, because if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, right? You may even take it a step further and loathe the thought of finding new music and media to entertain you because it feels safer to revisit the things that have been proven to calm you down, or make you laugh, or comfort you.

While certainty and the emotional comfort that comes with it may feel safe to us, as an overall life concept is an illusion at best. This is because the only purpose in existence is evolution. As human beings we are meant to be thrown into unfamiliar situations that may feel scary and temporarily wreck havoc on our nervous systems. This is because we cannot learn, grow and “boss up” without a consistent influx of new challenges to master.

After a while, the challenges that kicked our asses suddenly transform into the mundane shit you…
