“Resting In Your Femininity” Might Be A Bullshit Concept

The #housewifelife is merely one of many options, and you owe it to yourself to figure out what womanhood means to you on a deep, personal level.

The typical narrative of a woman resting in her femininity and what we now know as living a soft life usually involves a woman getting married and her man retiring her from the stresses of corporate life so she can be a housewife and have lots of time to rest. As if women only have two options in life: to wait on a man to rescue her or to continue living a miserable existence in a job where she is overworked and underpaid.

As a woman who retired herself from the demands of Corporate America and carved her own path, all without signing her life away through marriage, I must say that so many ladies are more than capable of rescuing themselves and they do not have to wait on anyone! I have personally witnessed women decades older than me who are still sitting on Facebook after so many long years daydreaming and exchanging ideas about their own Prince Charming finally telling them to quit their jobs.
