Same. I had a boyfriend and everyone would fawn over how he treated me. He did many loving and sweet gestures…but he was still a man at the end of the day. He was an abusive and terrible person.
I can’t speak for all women, but many of them are compromising on something important to stay with that man they won’t let go of.
