Seriously, Telling Fat People To Eat Salad Is Terrible Advice!
“Sorry not sorry, but being skinny is not the end-all be-all of health. Many people who appear healthy are downright emaciated and desperately need to gain weight. Read that again!”
Last week my brother and I went out to dinner at a local BBQ spot. I was eagerly anticipating to fuck up some spare ribs and fall-off-the-bone chicken. I don’t know about you, but I love me some meat! Pork, beef, chicken, lamb, it’s all blessed in my eyes!
During the car ride to our delicious destination he shared that he isn’t hungry so he’s just accompanying me to pay for my meal, plus he is trying to “get healthy” by losing weight; apparently he has been seeing great results from exercising and eating salad.
No lie, in the passenger’s seat my nostrils began to flare. Frankly, I don’t see the point in drastically changing one’s diet and slashing calories to lose weight because that weight isn’t going to stay off anyway. Nobody wants to spend the remainder of their lives gobbling large salads with a touch of dressing, even if they reach their goal weight.
I have mentioned before that losing weight is a terrible goal because many people will do anything to reach that goal including participating in unhealthy habits that leave them hungry and feeling weak and irritable. A better…
