Stockholm Syndrome: Black Women Want The World To Protect Them From The Same Black Men They Love
“Protect black girls by birthing and raising them in loving, healthy environments, far removed from communities that only know death, poverty, destruction, and violence.
Keep black girls sheltered away from the fate of this culture.
That’s how you do your part in keeping them alive.”
Sanni Lark
The same black women who use the #protectblackwomen hashtag refuse to leave alone the collective of men who have made this hashtag possible through their abuse and violence.
I’ve always been curious with this hashtag, because it seems as though some black women use #protectblackwomen as a virtual battle cry for their men to finally see the error in their ways and to step up. It’s like a last ditch attempt to see if these men still have a smidgen of empathy for the black woman before these ladies finally decide to leave them alone for good.
