I have said this before and I will say it again: I completely understand and see why men view themselves as prizes. Last weekend I got to witness how far some women will go to find a man.

Last Saturday evening I was getting ready to do my daily yoga practice, followed by some dancing. My phone was laying next to me when it lit up. I thought I received a text from my friend I was speaking to earlier, but a random number stared back at me. I decided to read the message.

“Hiya, are you Roman? I’m Adrienne…we texted on Tinder before when I came to visit my grandma but we didn’t meet for coffee,, I’m back here 4 awhile if you want 2 actually go out while I’m here, are you up for it?”

I stared at the misspelled words and horrendous grammar for a few minutes.

Who the fuck goes on coffee dates?! I thought as I laughed to myself. I had to think about my response. Because the phone number she texted wasn’t Roman’s. Sanni pays the bill.

I decided to send a generic message. Although I really wanted to ask this stranger why she would meet a man for coffee, it wasn’t my place to pry into her business.

“Hi Adrienne. You have the wrong number.”
